  Loved the point it makes about how people are willing to look for undertones, nuance, and satire in Verhoeven’s violent work like Starship Troopers, but completely blind to such possibilities when it came to sexy stuff. 

  Doubles down on this by smattering other relevant clips from him throughout. 

  Still don’t think it’s some sort of misunderstood masterpiece, but certainly deserves a more critical reading than the original review pile on would have left it with had it not been reclaimed along the way.
