Ghostbusters: Afterlife

Ghostbusters: Afterlife ★★½

Jason Reitman's 'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' is a charmless sequel that is too haunted by its past. Sure, the film is changing the perspective from adults to young kids while putting fresh faces behind the wheel of the Ectomobile. However, it relies heavily on the nostalgia (and feels like a lazy re-tread) of the 'Ghostbusters' (Ivan Reitman, 1984) film. It's fun at times but lacks the story depth required to be the kind of film that it wants to be.
