This latest iteration of South Korean blockbuster ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’ is directed by Hanung Bramantyo and has a script so visibly manipulative that it’s difficult to stay invested. Fine performances from the cast - though Vino G. Bastian often goes a little over-the-top, but attempts to up the emotional stakes fall flat because they are repetitive and obvious. Oh, and can we please stop the yellow-ish, high-contrast look of these movies? It looks dreadful and only leads to headaches.
