Sam Mendes' 'Revolutionary Road' is a film that certainly will not cheer you up. It is a haunting, thought provoking film that proves getting married and having kids isn't for everyone. Beautifully written with extremely well-sketched characters. A pretty cynical take on marriages and relationships actually but that's what made the drama so compelling. Brilliant performances all around. Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio come together with great chemistry, pulling the best out of each other. Michael Shannon, Kathy Bates, David Harbour, and Kathryn Hahn are also turn in wonderful performances with Shannon steals the scenes every time he appears.
