The Secret Garden ★★½

Marc Munden's 'The Secret Garden' is competently made and pretty to look at, but its slow pace and lack of substance or intrigue makes this fantasy drama struggles to hold attention. Not much happens in the film, and the characters are rather flat and dull. The young actors are very good, with Dixie Egerickx clearly being the standout as Mary Lennox. The adult actors, however, are underused. Colin Firth, Julie Walters, and Isis Davis are only there for plot convenience and nothing else.
