Robert Eggers’ The Northman is a culmination of many stories told on screen before but is done so well that it kept my eyes glued to the screen for its entire duration. The acting was great and the film kept true to Eggers’ style of incorporating another language and giving everyone an accent for the historical time period and location the film was set in. The cinematography was absolutely breathtaking. It reminded me a lot of last year’s film Lamb and how beautiful scenery can look with mountains full of greenery. The score was on another level honestly, the chants and ceremonious percussion enveloped me as the movie progressed. Everything about this movie is just so fantastic that it’s a no brainer to not skip this. Go see it in dolby if you can!
10/10 - Masterpiece!
