    Enemy of the State

both Tony Scott's North by North West and The Conversation, even going as far as to having Gene Hackman (awesome as fuckign always) basically reprise Harry Caul here. both scary and eerily prescient in it's use of technology and goverment surveillance, more believable now than it was in 1998. also because it's Tony Scott the cast is fucking stacked, just look at it too many names to even list here and it works just a crackerjack thriller/action movie with tense…

    Crimson Tide

top tier Tony Scott alongside peak Denzel and Hackman going at it in a battle of wills on a submarine. if it weren't for Hunt for Red October i'd say this is the best submarine flick out there. pure tension for nearly the entire running time. and the reds, blues and green hues the grow more intense as the movie goes on and just how sweaty everyone gets *chef's kiss. just the best, miss ya Tony.

this movie has the same cinematographer as Bad Boys and Fatal Attraction. also, feels just wrong watching Matthau in this and he's too good for this movie anyway, playing a horrible PoS of a father. just maudlin and unfunny garbage.

    "Not my tempo"

I really can't believe it i was sure this couldn't happen, but it did Whiplash is now my favorite movie of 2014 over The Raid 2, yeah this indie drama about a jazz drummer just passed the most kick ass action movie of the century, what is happening to me? Yeah this movie is amazing in just about every way.

  • Psycho

I still can't believe how fucking good this is, even now. Alfred Hitchcock could have made a movie about paint drying and it still would have been suspenseful as fuck.
