This is exactly what I didn't know I wanted it to be. My first exposure to Amelie was watching the musical with my mum a few years ago, so I half remembered the story as the film went on, but what the musical version didn't manage to translate is the creative use of video, and snappy editing, and how amazingly French this film is - there is a form of everyday eroticism that no one manages to capture like the French. Every day moments feel special, and this film captures the beauty of life.
