Portrait of a Lady on Fire ★★★★½

Exquisite, in all of the best ways. The beauty found in the silent looks between two people has never been on greater display, and it makes the forbidden nature of this love all the more infuriating. I'm annoyed that most of us have had to wait months to see this, but it's worth it many times over. It goes well beyond the 'female gaze' and becomes something powerfully evocative of a singular, stifled existence. You'll never see a slow burn like this ;)
