Ahhh this was so sweet.
Some of the best visuals I've ever seen, incredibly score and ideologically deep. While pretty exposition heavy and not all of the think pieces work, the action and mystery were engaging enough for me to excuse.

Maybe I'm just a sucker for cyberpunk sci-fi but hell I thought it was pretty great.
Wes Anderson never fails to wow us in regards to framing and composition of shots, but with The Grand Budapest Hotel he achieves far more. The comedic timing and eccentricity of the film truly put this one over the top, alongside a story within a story within a story within a story that's just wonderfully extravagant. The playing with aspect ratios is also quite unique and appreciated.
