I wish I got to see this in theatres because this was fantastic!
Carey Mulligan delivers a fantastic performance that is definitely one of the year's best. The trauma that is a living part of her life does not feel forced when the viewer watches Mulligan act. There's a lot of nuance to it, and it isn't just sadness vibes to reflect her trauma. I loved the framing and composition choices throughout the film, especially in the second half where things get super intense. All of the reveals actually worked perfectly for me, yet I can understand why the ending and other things may divide people. Promising Young Woman is definitely a must-see and likely a rival for the top 5 movies of 2020, in my opinion.
