  • Audition

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

What I love a lot about Audition is that as a Horror film it slowly morphs over time switching from a more romantic comedy tone to one of complete horror, a similar situation that has happened to so many but remains a form of urban legend that we put in the back of our mind. The seemingly perfect person that everyone thinks there is something off about, you push it off because you really like them, they perfectly match who…

    Peppermint Candy

Peppermint Candy is a story of depression and sadness in life, blaming others for the wrong turns, pushing everyone you love or knew aside because of this pain and selfishness. Taking the pain out on everything you once found dear and how bitterness against the world can swallow you whole. But its also about the complexity of sadness, anger and depression and I don't think there's been a better illustration of those emotions in any film I've except for this.…

So I've just finished this and love the world, love the effects of it, the gorgeous otherworldly soundtrack, the ideas of human "evolution" into this new grotesque form, the pain as sexual release, how our body reacts to the dystopia that we created, the horrors of this world are great but it just feels like an incomplete narrative.

It's like an episode in a wider series and in a way that could work, bringing us into the lives of these…

    New Rose Hotel

I swear porn parodies have a more interesting plot and better adaption of the source material than this does.

Went in wanting to like it, been interested in it for a while. Willem Defoe and Christopher Walken in a William Gibson adaption, a mellow minimalist cyberpunk with the job to take a lead scientist away from his wife and research for financial gain whilst one of them falls in love with the same woman they tend to use to seduce.…

    Black Christmas

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

What an absolutely fantastic Horror flick. It just has so much creeping atmosphere, slow moving but clever and calculated. So visually rich too that really plays well into the Christmas holiday, how mostly everyone is gone for the home leaving this house nearly bare, you feel the spirit of it there but it always feels realistic in the way it is shown.

But the killer feels scarier more about what he can do rather then does, he has the potential…

    Space Sweepers

It's incredible how many different cultures and dialects are used within this film not just Korean and English but French, Russian, German, Filipino. It's a different kind of Sci-Fi, a more inclusive one. Space Sweepers is genuinely one of the best Sci-Fi films I've seen in this decade yet. It's an infusion of Cowboy Bebop, Firefly, Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, The Expanse just to name a few. It's it has themes about the world and the direction were going but…
