The Cannon Group Inc. was an American group of companies, including Cannon Films, which produced a distinctive line of low-to-medium budget films from 1967 to 1993. Many of the most popular (or notorious) Cannon films were produced from 1979 to 1989 by Israeli cousins Menahem Golan (who had directed The Apple) and Yoram Globus, the pair of whom had purchased Cannon for $500,000.
