Makes explaining the crash of the housing market and subsequent economic crisis in 2008 entertaining, which is no small feat. Gets a bit repetitive towards the end and characters stay a little too one-note for my taste, but has some good comedy moments sprinkled throughout. Liked Christian Bale's tick-y performance, as well as Gosling's self-serving banker persona. Won't blow your mind, but if you're tired of seeing the financial world through parties and drugs à la Wolf of Wall Street, this might be more your style.
