Dinelka Balasuriya’s review published on Letterboxd:
Sam Raimi's follow up to the classic The Evil Dead is terrific, almost on par with the original. Opening in such a violent, thrilling and explosive way, Evil Dead II never once slows down and becomes a rollercoaster ride. Whilst the original spent time needing to build up the tension and effectively too, this sequel requires nothing of the sort and comes out just a little weaker than its predecessor, though this same opinion isn't shared elsewhere. Much darker, violent and funnier, Evil Dead II is still a fantastic film that may confuse viewers regarding the structure early on.
