Big Fish is never hesitant to dissect its eccentricity, but the fabulous quality of this Tim Burton odyssey is the adamant conservation of pure heart and actuality. Big Fish may soar into the artificial stratosphere with its cartoonesque aesthetic and ethereal sequences, but the maintenance of humanity and an applicable narrative makes this one of the Burton's best and most grounded motion pictures.
Big Fish tells the story of stories, and how the lore infused in them thrives long after…
one of my cinematic pet peeves is when a character's reaction to a nosebleed is to tilt their heads back instead of forward. speaking as a frequent nose-bleeder, NO!!!! do NOT do that!!!! that's how you swallow blood clots, you AMATEURS. you nosebleed DILETTANTES.

There’s a moment in Rocketman that lands such a devastating blow that the film immediately soared to the top of the list of my favorite biopics.
When Elton finally comes out to his mother, she surprisingly receives the news in a rather calm, indifferent manner, proclaiming that she had already known for years. However, she ends this conversation with the declaration that Elton is “choosing a life of being alone forever,” and therefore will “never be loved properly.”
This is one of the most beautiful, lurid, transcendent, mesmerizing, inspirational, tremendous, colorful, emotional, and overall incredible things I’ve ever seen. Holy shit. I’m literally speechless. This is...unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. A bit dependent on previous entries in the genre to tell its story (some bits feel particularly cliché) but a stunning visual masterpiece nonetheless. A true work of art. Makes Bohemian Rhapsody look like even more of a stinking pile of garbage than it already is. SEE THIS NOW!!
