    Horror Hunt #50 (August 2022)

    16. Bela Lugosi
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Recently I've grown so used to horror films from the 1940s being garbage. And then suddenly something like The Body Snatcher shows up and proves me wrong.

You want good grave robbing horror? Then this might be one of your best options! What we're dealing with here are the many ethical conundrums that spring up when a seriously creepy Boris Karloff provides a medical school with freshly snatched bodies from the…

    52 Years In 52 Weeks: 2022 Edition

    34. 2001
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seeing all these 4 and 5 star reviews on here make me feel like a weirdo. What was I supposed to like here exactly? The daft protagonist? The obnoxious soundtrack? The insufferable and smug self-importance of what is ultimately a very edgy and pretentious story. I guess seeing a weirdly young Seth Rogen show up as a bully was kinda funny.. But that is not much to carry a film with.

All in all... I did not care for Donnie Darko. It INSISTS upon itself..

Spooky Scary Horrorthons - Film #16

The term timeless is being thrown around a lot, but John Carpenter's The Thing hasn't actually aged a single second in 32 years. The masterful use of godlike practical effects and impeccable suspense is something that is rarely seen in the world of cinema at such an impressive level.

The story centers around a group of burly men (including a heavily bearded Kurt Russell and my #1 man crush Keith David) working at a…
