The quote above makes the movie so much more than just "Call me by your name and I'll call you by mine" which is the most memorable quote of the movie. Yeah, "Call Me by Your Name" is a movie about two young guys falling in love but it is more than that. It is not only about love, passion and romance. It is also about acceptance, embracement and support. We all are used to watching movies about two peachy guys being passionately in love. But we are not used to watching movies about parents being open-minded and being supportive of their children's sexual orientation since the beginning. Especially, when it comes to fathers. That is why "Call Me by Your Name" differs from and gets more important than any other LGBTQ movies. Therefore, the movie is inspirational.
Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer's on-screen chemistry is great. Timothée Chalamet is really good at conveying his character's emotions. Armie Hammer is also good at staying in his character and do I have to mention how good looking he is? Well, I think, "good" is not enough to express how good Chalamet and Hammer's performances were. "Resplendent" would be the right word to define
their performances. Anyway, Michael Stuhlbarg gives a superb performance. Every actor is in complete sync with their character and other characters. Thus, the acting is remarkable.
Luca Guadagnino is an amazing director. I liked how he directed every single thing. The intimate scenes he directed weren't erotic, they were aesthetic. Good job, Luca Guadagnino! The cinematography is good but it is not so mesmerizing, even though I think Luca Guadagnino worked well with the cinematographer.
The narrative feels as ambroisal as peaches. The dialogues and monologues are exceptional. There are a lot of lines that deserve to be memorable.
The soundtrack is so good. Sufjan Stevens' songs just give an eargasm.
In short, "Call Me by Your Name", one of the most anticipated movies of 2017, is such an influential and impressive movie.
