Macbeth ★★★★

There's some point that this incarnation of Macbeth is very incomplete, covering the basics of the play but not complete by any means. Still, aside from Throne of Blood (dir by Kurosawa) or the filmed staged version of Macbeth (starring Ian McKellen), it is my favorite. Fassbender is riveting descending into madness; Cotillard's face is a mirror of fervor followed by and combating regret.

If you are unfamiliar with the play, i wouldn't suggest this a place to start. The dialogue flows fast and several accents thick, leading to lack of clarity for entire exchanges.
