I wanted to like this for reasons of Campbell auteurism (THE PROTEGE rips, to say nothing of his Bonds) and ideological reasons (Islamic extremism is a plague and more movies should be made about the monstrousness of ISIS and the Taliban) but, sadly, it’s a badly acted, muddled, cheap-looking, and, worst of all, boring mess. Boo!
