The Road 2009
Does what most adaptions do and retains some great details while ridding it of its soul. Viggo was the right man here, and I think would play an even better version that’s in the book. For such simple characters, the film’s version somehow pushes away from the post world that we know. I don’t think McCarthy would ever want music throughout this thing until the Boy’s epilogue. Missing 2023
Not gonna rate this as a film really, as any movie that’s worth your watch should be seen on the big screen. These other movies seem designed to watch on your laptop which is oddly… okay, in such a flexible medium as this. Still cannot handle Storm Reid’s acting, and subtlety (I mean it’s a screen) is never present. The kind of thing I didn’t expect to half-predict almost immediately, but was still a fine ride. Fun! Too long.
