Vivian’s review published on Letterboxd:
Feels like how the "[song] playing in another room" meme sounds. Isolating, hazy, melancholy. Enjoyed it more on second watch. The treatment of the Japanese people is inappropriate and at worst offensive. Beauty is derived from the "exotic" environment and that sort of cinematic tourism doesn't sit right with me. The age gap also made me uncomfortable. But that's escapism by a young woman who felt neglected so I guess I can't really complain.
