Didn't find out what metal sounds like, but I know what the sound of music does :p
Sound of Metal is very real to the harshness and unpredictable nature of life along with the pain and agony of bad luck. Taking the sound experience of film to an original level, Riz Ahmed signs an authentic and powerful performance as a drummer locked from sound without warning. The film builds around the way he learns to come to terms with the challenges of his new disability, through the discovery of who he really is as he gains a new perspective and new meaning in life. Without spoiling anything, I want to acknowledge the films ending, which I think is the strongest part of the film. Riz Ahmed and the entire cast give a great performance and while it's a slow-burn movie, it's a powerful and intense watch. I can confidently say this is one of the better films of 2020.
