i cannot find a single flaw in this film. the writing is great. the cinematography is beautiful. the characters pull you in. it may be 2 hours long but it feels like an hour. that's how captivating it is. it's disconcerting. it's unpredictable. and the story unfolds so elegantly. the huge turn it takes halfway is easily one of the most memorable plot twists i've ever come across. i think this is an honest portrayal of poverty and what people would do to escape it. "metaphorical" perhaps.
i'm still slightly shaken by how this totally exceeded my expectations which were high as it is. that may sound dramatic but i really mean it.
go in knowing little to nothing.
you won't regret it.
