Letterboxd — Your life in film

Watched this to prepare for Goodbye, Dragon Inn. Wuxia isn't my usual genre of choice but the was pretty entertaining and well-paced. Fight choreography ruled.

I would've bullied him.

Just checking if this is still the GOAT. It is.

Expected this to be mostly carried by Douglas. While he's the highlight, Wyler brings an introspective analysis on police work and culture into all characters and the general plot. Really enjoyed this.

Very fun heist films — moves quickly and gets to the point with a very intense last third. A must for fans of crime films.

Very impactful coming of age film.

Great film about what a lack of closure can do to us. Are we able to let it go and move on with life, even if it's not as exciting? Sorta Rohmer-ish tale but without the witty dialogue, though still emotionally impacting and empathetic.

Anyway, it's difficult to rate this highly due to Hamaguchi's other films. Maybe that's unfair.
