    Star Wars: The Last Jedi

    ★★★½

I liked it because.. it‘s Star Wars, and because Kylo Ren kicks ass.

There is so much wrong with this film though, whole plotlines feel pointless. Many gags are not funny but just wtf moments.

Mehr Budget für Puppen und Masken und eine weniger lahme Prügelaction hätten dem Film gut getan.

  • Blade Runner 2049

    Blade Runner 2049

    ★★★★½

I watched it, I liked it. Despite the combination of a direction mastermind and a perfect dystopian experience, it didn't blow me away completely as I expected. I wonder why. Maybe because it didn't connect on the emotional level or maybe because it is too long.

Finally somebody made a decent Spiderman movie. It only took 6 attempts in 15+ years.

Pretty funny flick from my home town which could be watched being drunk.

  • Wonder Woman

    Wonder Woman

Ridiculous movie, why is it so overrated? Is everybody high and drunk?

  • War for the Planet of the Apes

War for the Planet of the Apes

    ★★★★

The uncanny valley effect was almost gone, most of the time I was able to forget that I'm dealing with pure CGI. I was suprised to see such an emotional (having a kid helps), suspenseful and straightforward part – best one of the trilogy I think.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

    ★★½

Marvel cranked up the comedy to a degree where the movie feels like a parody of itself. Like if Hot Shots was the sequel to Top Gun.

I can't even finish this pile of garbage.

  • Ghost in the Shell

    Ghost in the Shell

    ★★★

Comparing both, the remake looks to the past whereas the original looks ahead. In this adaption, Ouelet literally said it: what defines us are not our memories, it's what we do – and that's where the movie fails; as well as in the super cheesy ending. Visually, some things catch the spirit. Some great work was done with the animatronics and set designs. But then some stuff gets over-used and over-explained. There's not much left to think about after you left. A mixed bag.
