this film is a rare exception for me in that i actually think it could have been just a little longer and i wouldn't have minded it at all actually
Film #42 - 1990s
Mira Nair was making films like this in 1991 that show how films focusing on interracial relationships don't require a white person to be interesting or compelling! I wish more films like this were being made. Denzel and Sarita have so much chemistry and I really enjoyed the story being told.
So I'd seen this before, and I loved it, but this time around I brought my Dad (who had the choice between this film and A Bigger Splash, and chose this one because "the guy from Horrible Bosses is hilarious"), and boy, did he have some words to say.
[Ten Minutes into the Film, having seen Colin Farrell more than once and with a general prior knowledge of what he looks like]
"Is that Colin Farrell?"
"..... Yes, Dad."
