There's entirely too much movement at breakfast!
Seen for Scavenger Hunt #31 (October), task 17: A film that you think looks rubbish but everyone else loves.
Like my friend Morgan, it's not that I thought this film looked bad; rather, I thought that it was likely not going to really do well as a sequel.
That said though, and also like Morgan, I was completely mistaken. Blade Runner 2049 is a massively, and I mean massively, wonderful film. It certainly builds nicely on Villeneuve's previous science fiction…
Seen for Scavenger Hunt #35 (February, 2018), task 9: A film/documentary with a message you disagree with (again, doesn't necessarily have to be political).
Boring, offensive in its poor evidence and misrepresentation of facts, either making claims based on extraordinarily flimsy logic and connections or making claims so trivial they aren't even close to being worth putting into a movie.
I watched this to procrastinate from doing schoolwork, which includes reading the 1791 English seduction novel Charlotte Temple. That would have been a much, much better use of my time.
