It's like the visual equivalent of Sunn 0))) or at least that's the best analogy I can devise currently. This would have been interesting if it was attached to something grander

I really hope that when people look back over the past decade they will realize how ridiculously under-hyped Joaquin actually is as an actor. Her is an overall stunning film, both emotionally and visually; Spike Jonze has managed to capture a future that is simultaneously melancholy and yet visually bright and saturated with color. A true masterpiece and a must-see for anybody's list. My #1 movie of 2013.
