F for Fake ★★½

F For Fake is not entirely satisfying as a movie. Mashing up fiction and documentary it seems to lose the essential qualities of both forms. It is however, a wonderful jumping off point for discussion on art, its inherent value, the value of criticism and expertise, and cinema as a lie to which the audience agrees a priori.
Basically, Welles is a genius even when he's not hitting his marks. I could watch the man forever, and probably will.
