An impressive directorial debut by Wu Nien-Jen, a popular Taiwanese screenwriter responsible for writing films like A City of Sadness, The Puppetmaster, and That Day, on the Beach, to name a few. A melancholic and bittersweet portrait of the memories between a youth (Wen-Jian) growing up in post-WW2 Taiwan during China's rule and his father (Sega) who had grown up decades before WW2 during the Japanese rule. It's made all the more emotional to watch considering Wu has gone off…

look, i know this film is almost a century old so im not expecting disturbing creatures designs/effects like those of famous 80s horror films such as The Thing but come on man. If I woke up to this thing trying to suck my blood with his dry ass lips i'd just suplex him

Who thought that taking serious material like this and directing it like a Tim & Eric sketch was a good idea?

I finished the Better Call Saul mid season finale a couple days ago and wow was that one of the best episodes in the series. I joked about the series doing the exact thing that happened in the final scene of the episode, but I didn't think it would ever happen. This is definitely the best show on television rn, and I'm glad that the wait for the rest of the season is only 6 weeks and not an entire year *COUGH*breaking bad*COUGH*

A relatively mediocre battle/adventure anime held up by some fantastic production. There's some charm to be found later on in the story when more characters are introduced and you get to see some decent interactions and comedy. However, for the most part the show tends to be uninteresting and the writing leaves much to be desired. Also why tf is this on here?
