"In life, there are times to be quiet, to shut the fuck up. This is one of those times."
Insane how early in his career Spike Lee made School Daze. The direction is confident and assured and Spike hones the musical numbers beautifully. All the characters are insanely likable and defined. I just really dug the vibe of this one and could see Spike making a series based on this like he did with She's Gotta Have It. I think much of what it touches on could be explored more today and I think these characters could lend themselves well to more stories.
