While I’ve disliked this film before, I can’t deny it this time around. The humor is wholesome and plentiful throughout. Of course it’s cheesy but that’s in the charm of it all.

It won’t make my favorites and I won’t say I loved it but I cannot say that it isn’t entertaining and full of many quotable and memorable moments.  I’ve been reformed.

There’s something nice in the way the story wastes no time. It throws you into it and just lets you experience for yourself.

I don’t feel blown away by the story in any way but I think it’s very well-done. It’s beautiful to look at. Just like the statues Elio’s father studies, many shots throughout the film are works of art.

The premise here, a girl has sex and a supernatural force is out to kill her. The kicker? Only she can see it. I have to say I absolutely loved this film. The soundtrack is very eerie and offsetting. I felt uncomfortable (in a good way) the whole time I was watching. Sometimes the best stories are the simple ones. No flash here, just a tale of two men working on a lonely country road. They’re away from everything but what they don’t have they make up for in companionship.

The camerawork here is awesome. The way the visuals line up with voiceover really touched me. Paul Rudd is so likeable in everything and you really feel for him here.

If I had to describe this movie, it’s the perfect indie to put on during a rainy day. Quiet, heartfelt, with some true gems to take home.
