Blade Runner 2049 ★★★½

It’s too early for me to say I like the “long awaited” sequel to the 1982 film, but boy does this film have style.

Ryan Gosling once again knows how to play a character that is lost in is own head for the entire film, but this is going to be one of those polarizing films where people on both ends are going to have their reason for loving and hating this one.

I appreciate the homages to “Blade Runner” and seeing call backs and the story of how replicants have evolved thanks to a new creator, but overall, this was a sequel for fans of the 1982 classic and people who don’t like “Blade Runner” still aren’t going to like “Blade Runner.” It’s a slow burn sci-fi noir not built for this current generation of filmgoer, ie, Anyone born after 1996. Don’t you love generalizations :)
