This turned out to be a decent black comedy directed by the late great Harold Ramis. A solid use of black comedy and dark humor mixed in with some pretty gritty scenes, which made for a fun movie. It certainly had some flaws and felt rushed at times but I enjoyed the Christmas theme and the Witchita references throughout.

Oliver Platt was funny as hell in this even if his character didn’t add much to the total story line.

    I give this a 3.5/5 stars

For the directorial debut of Wes Anderson and the film feature debut of both Wilson brothers, this was actually a very entertaining film. Although not as artistic as Anderson’s later works, it still has some of his notable charm included in the movie that makes it stand out.

The premise, flow, and ending were all very well made and the uniqueness of the cast and characters really stood out.

Overall a pretty solid debut film by now one of the most successful directors of today. 4/5 stars

I’ve watched bits of this a few years back but really didn’t pay much attention so this is my official first time view. Although right at the end of the decade, this film just screamed 1990s to me. A young handsome Brad Pitt acting along with the genius of Edward Norton was the perfect combination for Fincher. David Fincher has a really good eye for finding the right talent to go together in film and he didn’t disappoint here. Not…
