    First Reformed

    "Everything preserved renews creation."

First Reformed is a transformative film experience. It doesn't just inspire self-reflection, it demands it. During and after the film, I found myself moved to intense emotions, thinking about my own journey of faith, where I am taken by despair, and what I seek out so that I may feel filled with life.

This is not just the best film of 2018 so far, but one of the best of the decade.

  • Mute

This movie is like the sci-fi feature version of True Detective season 2.
This movie is disgusting and regressive.
This movie actively works to make me like Moon less.
This movie plays out like the very worst script off of the Blacklist.
This movie is probably what ended Justin Theroux's marriage.

    The Invitation

Worst sound mixing in recent memory.

  • BlacKkKlansman

Forget remakes and adaptations and studio owned IPs that producers keep trying to pair with Spike Lee. He needs to focus entirely on incendiary movies like this. Here, Lee gets back to his early energy and the iconic style of filmmaking that he created in 1983 with Joe's Bed-Stuy Barbershop.

    Mission: Impossible - Fallout

I murder women and children with smallpox.

This franchise is my sweet, indulgent tiramisu, and Alec Baldwin slapping Henry Cavill around like a little boy toy is the peanut butter crème on top.

    Brad's Status

As if a movie about an unhappy sack of dough doesn't induce enough anxiety and discomfort, Ben Stiller's character also uses the iPhone "Radar" sound for his ringtone.
