    Superman: Red Son

    Brainiac was the true hero.

  • Ford v Ferrari

    Ford v Ferrari

I found this show even more entertaining than that other racing movie "Rush". You know, the one with Thor in it.

This is also a based-on-a-true-story type film. I still can't believe a human made this. It's like they got a room of A.I. computers to take every beloved, dramatic sports movie and told them to made one about this 1966 car race.

The movie then proceeds to tick all the boxes of how a great movie goes along and it ends magnificently.

  • I Am Mother

    I Am Mother

...and outta nowhere, comes a movie I enjoyed!!

I loved almost everything about this film. One of my favorite things to do is treat an unknown movie like a mystery novel. Try to guess where it's headed and what the characters' arcs will turn out to be.

The set up to this film is pretty vague with lots of possibilities. I've seen 10 Cloverfield Lane, the Black Hole, Saturn V, Alien, Short Circuit, District 9, Lost in Space, played Portal…

  • Gosford Park

    Gosford Park

I watched this as a prequel of sorts for my beloved Downton Abbey.

It's a great story and an interesting period piece. But oh the sheer number of characters thrown at you. It'll either keep you on your toes with getting the background and stories for each straight...or you'll snooze off.

I did the former and had a great time. It's definitely worth a watch for any Downton fan.

  • Captive State

    Captive State

I enjoyed it. It's got a lot going on and the writer doesn't spoon-feed you everything. But if you pay a little attention, everything is clear.

I was worried the ending would suck, but it has a good ending and everything that happened earlier is explained if you didn't get it all the first time.

  • The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part

After watching the trailer, I was preparing to be disappointed. Figured it'd just be a shameless cash-grab.

But...It sucked me in, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Best musical of 2019 so far!

  • Bao

    Sweet lil short.

  • A Star Is Born

    A Star Is Born

Things I overheard as the credits rolled (while the audience wiped their tears):

"Damn, Bradley Cooper is a charmer."
"...I was wondering why he sounded just like Sam Elliott."
"I didn't know he could sing."
"I didn't know she could sing."
"Well, I sure need a drink now."
"I can't believe Andrew Dice Clay is a better actor than Lady Gaga."

  • Ocean's Eleven

    Ocean's Eleven

The chemistry between Clooney & Pitt make this film great.

  • The Meg

    The Meg

This was much better than I expected.

When we showed up to this PG-13 movie, our theatre was mostly parents who had brought their 6 yr olds with them. I counted at least eight young boys and girls. Later after watching actors get eaten and buckets of blood and gore, some children started wailing. I smirked at the parents and gave them the "thumbs-up" as their reward. They left.

    The Meg is a surprisingly well-made B-movie monster show. I expected…

  • Ant-Man and the Wasp

    Ant-Man and the Wasp

I liked this one better than the first.
Ant-Man works better as a sidekick to the Wasp.

That epilogue had the entire audience gasping "OH NO!"

P.S. I now want Paul Rudd to be my daddy.

  • Bachelor Mother

    Bachelor Mother

It's too bad they don't make ones like these anymore. Ginger Rogers has the best comedic timing.
