Completely underestimated. This dark basic tenor, which does not allow any heroism. The nihilistic score. The great Toby Kebbell, who comes out of nowhere and tears down walls. And then there's the last 15 minutes. And the ending. Great little movie.
First time watch. Absolutely blown away. I instantly remembered the recent discussion between Friedkin and Refn and just thought: "THAT is a movie you can call a masterpiece, Nicolas!" And yes, they don't make movies lie this anymore. Friedkin has such an eye for detail, timing and narration. I could go on with the many standout moments, the score, the cast, the colors, ... Wow. Just wow.
