I absolutely love this movie. It's beautiful, funny, disturbing and philosophical. The imagery is fantastic, and it tells a story in a really innovative way - it has these little vignettes in which the story takes place. In the more stressful scenes, the number of vignettes grows and grows, making the audience feel overwhelmed and distressed.
There are so many amazing parts of this film that my only advice is to just watch it. It's a true masterpiece and I'd recommend it to anyone.
This movie tries WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too hard to be depressing, and it is completely to its detriment. Maybe if it weren't for the fact that every plot point was to tell the audience that everything is terrible and sad and unenjoyable, it might have ended up ok, because this film has some interesting ideas.
But because its so rare for there to be no emotion aside from "EVERYTHING IS SAD", so you get detached from reality and can't appreciate actual sad moments, so everything is just a bland mess.
Kingsman 2 is fucking dogshit. The first Kingsman is one of my favourite films I've seen - it was a spy movie that was as funny as Austin Powers, but still takes itself seriously enough to be enjoyed in a totally different way.
This film, however, is dogshit. The villain is boring. The plot is stupid and boring. Colin Firth comes back and has amnesia, which is the most annoying plotpoint. He's just boring now. This film is boring. Nothing…
