My grandma, bless her heart, doesn’t really go out much. She prefers to stay at home and read. When she invited me to go see a film of her favorite book, I had to accept.
I decided I wouldn’t go into this with a critical eye. I wanted to get as much out of this as possible. I wanted to see “deep and moving” message that lied in the story.

It’s way less emotion oriented, and much more thrill oriented. It’s oddly beautiful some of the landscapes, but as soon as you notice it, it’s back to the harsh reality. You speak you die. Every scare, every scenario, every action seems realistic. Everything that happens are natural ways of fight or flight. Up until the finale in the radio tower, this movie makes every jump scare count. They are perfectly placed apart and never seem like they were pointless. Perfect…
