A good representation of how we deal with our own lore and thoughts on life/karma/religion/upbringing/whatever it is in your mind.
In the world of Southern lore especially, you can't escape your past.
Danny Glover is as good as advertised also!
The characters’ focus on ‘sharing everything in life’ echoes in the way Woo treats The Deer Hunter. He essentially adapts the movie; instead of building character and friendship through long, slow build ups...he does it by just being batshit crazy and going completely off the wall for the entire movie, including the scenes in and after Vietnam.
