I love the narrative and storytelling devices present in this prequel/sequel. It’s almost more of a tragedy than the first film, as Michael has fallen now to the vices he so vehemently rejected at Connie’s wedding…

Two highlighted scenes I’d like to mention are Fredo and Michael’s final full conversation in the room overlooking the lake. We lost John Cazale too soon. And of course, Kay revealing the truth about the abortion is impressively acted. Diane Keaton is and always will be a standout from this series.

Yeah, so I had a ton of homework to do. But the Blu-ray was sitting on my desk. One could say that Coppola made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.

Postscript: I laugh my ass off every time I watch the scene where Vito steals a rug. A very needed bit of levity in an otherwise tragic film.
