How about a feel-good-coming-of-age-teenage-romantic movie? Seems clichéd, formulaic and over-used right! Well, this Malyalam romantic comedy is breath of fresh air. It takes you right to your 'first crush' days and hits you right in the nostalgia.
The movie follows the love interest of Pooja (Nazriya Nazim), a 16 year old girl who falls for a much older do-gooder guy Giri (Nivin Pauly). But what starts as a teenage crush transpires in a serious 'faliing-for-a-guy' in her adult life.
This movie belongs to Nazriya. No one can take it away from her. She is completely convincing as a 16 year old tomboyish teenager and also as a matured and rather thoughtful adult. Jude Joseph has hit it out of the park with his debut film. The editing and cinematography is beautiful. In addition the breathtakingly beautiful Kerala adds 'chaar chand' to an already wonderful film. Special mention to the background score and the lovely, romantic tracks. Though I didn't get a word, the melody hits a cord with you.
Watch it for its feels, Nazriya and 90s nostalgia!
