I Killed My Mother

I Killed My Mother ★★★★

“Do you split yourself open like a wound to be tended so your mother’s gaze might for once be soft? She reaches for the budding rose of your rib-cage and picks you apart —familiar.”

I hate this movie not because it’s boring but because i’m utterly appalled by how much it resonates with my own life. It’s painful to watch your own reflection and life unfold onto screen and think,”damn, is this how the rest of the world perceives me? pathetic.”

A baby cannot hate the the mother without the mother first hating the baby. As babies, we are innocent sponges, blank slates with only the most basic needs present like to eat/shit/love and be loved. But something goes wrong depending on the circumstances into which we are born and the house in which we grow up.
