Starred Up

Good when it's being a fly-on-the-wall sociological drama, awkward when the obvious writer self-insert do-gooder takes the spotlight, and disastrously false when it tries to have a plot.

I get that O'Connell is very INTENSE and super pretty but after three or four films with him I still don't see the appeal. (Although he's vastly more palatable here, when I had to think a little sometimes about what the hell he was saying with that accent, than he was in Money Monster, when his Noo Yawkese was easy to parse but clanged harder than a cellblock door.)
