Jake Gyllenhaal as an Bookish-Eagle Scout-Single Dad turned Serial Killer Investigator is My Type™ and I want to get drunk on bright blue alcoholic beverages with him.
2007 was the best year for modern filmmaking and Zodiac is my pick for the best of that year. It's a high-wire act of storytelling that David Fincher pulls off with sheer grace. The technical elements on display here, particularly the editing, blew my mind on this rewatch; the opening sequence alone features more masterful editing than most movies. Fincher puts that editing to good use, too - conveying a massive story stretched out over a decade with ease. Filmmaking at its finest, folks.
