Mulholland Drive 2001
So glad I saw this for the first time at my local filmbro theatre at 26, and not between the ages of 13-19, because seeing Laura Harring in this at any of those ages would have changed me on a fundamental level, and I don’t think for the better.

Red, White & Royal Blue 2023
The bisexual was a little too emotionally available for me feel fully Represented By Media™️ but it did violently catapult me back to the good old days of AO3, which is an accomplishment.
If it hadn’t been shot so horrendously, and someone other than yassified McCauley Culkin had turned on the acting chops, the election scene at the end would have made me cry. But that’s also more about me being annoyingly into politics.

boring real review: wow wow cinematography up the ass, some actual insane shots in this, Paul Dano is just doing a masterclass in every scene he’s in, and I love a movie that lets you sit in a moment and savour it for awhile
