    After having loved Alex Garland's previous film Ex Machina , I had pretty high hopes for this one. My hopes were only further raised when I started to hear people raving about it. I'm happy to say that for me, it did not disappoint. This is exactly my kind of film.

    Remember when spies used to be cool?

    While I thought it started out promisingly enough, this movie ultimately left me feeling absolutely nothing.

    It goes through a bunch of cold war spy thriller clichés, with the hook supposedly being that it features a woman taking the power back from men and using her sexuality for her own gains and on her own terms. That's all well and good, but did the film have to be so bleak and dour?
