It’s clear to me now — even as I admit there are some really good sequences in this movie — that Craig should have retired as Bond after Skyfall. That film said everything that needed to be said about bringing 007 into a modern context. But then they made two more movies basically repeating the same ideas and layering in more and more superfluous backstory onto a character who everyone enjoyed just fine for half a century without it.
