"Corbucci's other mexican revolution western was Companeros made 2 years later and the two films, although very similar in many ways, make an interesting comparison. Wäre es ein wenig länger und noch tiefgehender gewesen hätte es noch so viel besser sein können. So ist es mit den 20 Minuten zwar viel zu kurz, aber in dieser kurzer Zeit erfährt man überraschend viel und macht den Film noch genialer. Wer weiß wie viel noch besser oder schlechter der Film hätte werden können wenn sich Clint und Sergio tatsächlich verstanden hätten.
